Wider Güttler Magnum and 6.0m knife roller

With a working width of 15.6m, the Magnum 1560 is the widest prism roller in the Güttler range. The company has also launched a 6.0m MasterCut knife roller.Developed due to requests for wider working widths, the range-topping Magnum 1560 offers 25% more output that the current widest model – the 12.4m 1240.The eight pendulating elements follow ground contours, and it is equipped with a two-circuit compressed-air brake system.Around 3.7t of its 8.3t weight is on the tractor’s rear axle, and attaching the drawbar to the lower link arms allows for sharp 90-degree headland turns. The prism rings are said to turn on the spot without scuffing. The company says that its prism rollers are not only used to prepare the seedbed, but also post-drilling to improve establishment of both cereals and cover crops. When it is not needed, the roller rests on the prism rings and not the transport wheels.6.0m knife rollerGuttler says that the high rotational speed of the seven blades on the 360mm diameter MasterCut 600 make quick work of shredding cover crops.Developed in-house, the parallelogram-mounted levelling bar on the 6.0m front-mounted unit flattens material ahead of the blades. The firm reckons that a second knife roller is not necessary. The machine’s weight is spread equally across the working width, but the optional weight carrier is available. The flexible bearings and helical knife arrangement ensure smooth running and the transport width is 2.9m.Like the company’s other front-mounted knife rollers, the new 6.0m version, which is divided into two segments to follow ground contours, can be combined with rear cultivation kit or a seeder. The company says it is ideally suited for use with its SuperMaxx Culti with seeder and ultra prism roller or the heavier Matador prism roller with tines and seeder.Güttler products are imported to the UK by Morpeth-based (Northumberland) Wox Agri Services. For more up-to-date farming news click here and subscribe now to profi and save 47%.Share this: TwitterFacebookRedditWhatsApp by Steven Vale More From This Author
