Wider Kverneland Qualidisc and first hoes

The 12.25m semi-mounted model is a new width in the Qualidisc Pro compact disc harrow range. Another big surprise on the Kverneland stand at last week’s Agritechnica was the 12m Acardia 20120F tined finger weeder. The Qualidisc is currently available in mounted and semi-mounted widths from 2.0m to 7.0m. Designed to operate at speeds up to 18-20km/hr and depths from 2.0-15cm, the smaller notches on the 600mm diameter discs on the 21123T flagship machine allow it to work shallow when required. The outer sections fold to the centre to reduce the dimensions to a road legal width and height of 3.0m and 4.0m, respectively. Suitable for tractors from 450hp+, the firm plans to run a few pre-production models next season. When it does hit the market sometime 2025 it will be joined by a 10.25m version.First Kverneland hoesEarlier this year the Kverneland Group acquired BC Technique, a French company that produces the Phenix Agrosystem brand of inter-row cultivators, rotary hoes, guidance interfaces and tine harrows. As expected, Agritechnica was the first official outing for the Helios and Onyx mechanical hoes in Kverneland colours. What we didn’t expect to see on the Acarida. Designed to fit CTF systems, this is a machine not previously made by the BC Technique. The close to production concept is suitable for use in cereals and beans as soon as the roots are established. The ISObus machine has section control for all 10 of the 1.2m-wide sections, and all tines slot neatly into the frame when the mounted implement is raised at the headland.Tine spacing is 2.8cm and tine pressure is from 300g to 5.0kg. The frame height is 58cm and the Acardia can be pulled by a 130-140hp tractor. Kverneland says it has a lot of patents pending for the machine which is expected to be on sale sometime 2025. We are told to expect smaller mounted and wider trailed models in the future.First Kverneland mechanical hoes – ProfiFor more up-to-date farming news click here and subscribe now to profi and save 47%.Share this:TwitterFacebookRedditWhatsApp by Steven Vale More From This Author
