KRM 2,000-litre front seed tank

The latest seed drill from KRM uses the new Sola Aura front hopper and the Seed Ramp rear-mounted tine coulter frame. Splitting the hopper and drill between the front and rear of the tractor helps give a more even weight distribution. The Aura front hopper has a capacity of 2,000-litres and can be supplied as a single tank with either one metering unit, or two units which provide half-width shut off. The Aura can also be supplied split into two 1,000-litre containers to hold separate products. This allows two types of seed to be sown, when sowing a companion crop for example, or a combination of seed and fertiliser. The hopper is pressurised with a sealed lid to help ensure a consistent and even seed flow to the metering unit from hopper, whether full or almost empty, or when working on slopes. The front hopper can be supplied with two separate containers. The Aura uses the same stainless steel metering units as the company’s Ares-P and SM-P drills and also has the same ISObus control. Each metering system provides rates from two to 400 kg/ha and is electrically driven with ISObus control of all functions of the drill including 2+2 tramline shut-off and monitoring of forward speed, fan speed and hopper seed level. Auto on/off section control at headlands and variable seed rate is standard. Both left and right half width shut-off is available as an option and this can be controlled manually or automatically by GPS section control. The Seed Ramp on the rear of the tractor incorporates the same heavy duty SM tine coulter as KRM’s SM-P and SM1909 drills which will work directly into unmoved soil, min-till seedbeds and ploughed land. Row spacing is 16cm with a stagger of 40cm. Sowing widths range from 4.0m to 7.0m. Either one or two distribution heads can be fitted. The price of the Aura front hopper starts at £22,730 and a 6.0m, 37-row seed ramp with SM coulters costs £33,490.For more up-to-date farming news click here and subscribe now to profi for just £3.99 an issue. by Jonathan Theobold
