Väderstad establishes new maize drilling record
Väderstad’s 16-row Tempo L has set a world record for the most hectares of maize drilled in 24 hours. Pulled behind a Case IH Magnum CVX 380, the combination covered 502.05ha at an average speed over 20km/hr.
Staged at a farm in Hungary, the Tempo worked at 30in (76.2cm) row spacings, and covered 12.19m in each run. The quality of work was monitored by staff from Gödöllő University. The previous 24-hour maize drilling record of 448.29ha was established in 2012 in Russia by a Claas Xerion 5000 and a 24-row Horsch Maestro drill.
