Kuhn multi-purpose seedbed cultivator
Designed for a range of minimum tillage cultivation purposes from second pass seedbed preparation to shallow stubble cultivation, the 6m Prolander 6000 and 7.5m 7500 feature five rows of tines (39 on the 6000 and 49 on the 7500). Carried on a frame with 60cm of clearance for easier passage over heavy residues, Kuhn says the design results in a low power requirement of 25-35hp/m of working width, and a high output with working speeds of up to 12km/hr.
Vibrating S tines (70x12mm) are positioned at 155mm intervals and can be fitted with 60mm shares for seedbed preparatory work, or with 180mm duck-foot shares for surface stubble ploughing. Standard equipment includes hydraulically adjustable forward mounted support wheels and a hydraulically adjustable rear levelling board.
Optional equipment includes a hydraulic front levelling board for work on pre-ploughed land, and a rear harrow for final soil levelling. There are several front and rear roller options. Rear roller options include either a double tube (400mm diameter) and notched (320mm) roller arrangement for improved soil crumbling when working heavier land, or self-cleaning twin U-shaped rollers (both 600mm diameter) spaced at 12.9cm intervals for maximum soil consolidation.
Both models fold to a transport width of 2.83m, and prices start from £32,882. The first opportunity to see the Prolander will be at Cereals, in June.
