ProDig launches push-off silage forks
Irish based manufacturer ProDig Attachments has launched a new range of push-off grass silage forks. Available in five widths from 8ft (2.5m) up to 12ft (3.6m), reinforced brackets are available to suit a variety of machines from large industrial wheeled loaders/telehandlers to tractor front and rear linkages and loaders. The firm also offers a combi attachment to fit a range of different machines.
Fitted with replaceable wear tips, the bottom 1.4m (4.6ft) tines on the push-off frame are made from Hardox. The standard spec includes two heavy duty side tines, with the option of a third one if required. Underneath, the fork is fitted with replaceable hardened cutting-edge protective wear plates. Additionally, these plates are also welded to each side of the frame for added protection against clamp walls.
Laser cut holes in the angled steel gate used to “push” grass off the fork helps to reduce weight and increase visibility. Power is supplied by a pair of 70mm bore hydraulic rams. Requiring one double acting service and an oil flow of 80 l/min means the fork can be used with smaller machines. Pushing power comes from two heavy duty cranked arms. The gate slides out along the tines and is held in place by hardened steel locking pins which stop it moving backwards when under force. A pair of soft close rubber buffers fitted to the rear of the frame reduce the impact and strain on the components during operation.
Finished in the company’s gunmetal grey and green colours, the push-off silage forks can be fitted with optional safety strobes and work lights. Different tine spacing and lengths are available as well as a round tine option. Prices start from €5,000 + VAT.
